Cordoba Travel Blog

OVERVIEW: Cordoba is Argentina's second-largest city, and is located in the geographic centre of the country. It is known for its historical monuments, colonial architecture and numerous universities. Along with Buenos Aires and Rosario, Cordoba is known to have some of Argentina's most beautiful women.

POPULATION: 1,300,000

WEATHER: Humid subtropical (5-30 °C). Cordoba has four distinct seasons.

SAFETY: Safe. The only real risks for tourists are pickpockets and some of the seedier neighbourhoods which lie outside of the city.

MUST DO: Parque Sarmiento. An enormous park located close to the centre of the city. Has a lake, museums and an amphitheatre.

It's no Cusco, Peru but with a bit of work you'll be able to pick-up a few women. Women definitely outnumber men in Cordoba, and hot women definitely outnumber not-hot women, so your head will be on a swivel for the entire trip (more on that in the next section). Most girls, especially the students, will be very friendly to you if you strike up a conversation, and they'll more than likely show interest. Problem is, this friendliness will rarely result in a kiss on the dance floor or a date, let alone sex. The ladies here rarely get drunk enough to make bad decisions, and they know their worth so they don't give it up easily. This makes them the greatest girls on earth to get as girlfriends, but is frustrating if you're looking for a quick bang.

***ONLINE DATING: Latin American Cupid allows you to talk with girls and set up dates before you arrive in the country. For this reason, I recommend it.

Way too many hot girls. I can't even begin to explain what it's like here when university classes are in session. Blondes, brunettes, black-haired. There's all types, and they're all sexy.

RENT AN APARTMENT IN CORDOBA: $400.00 will set you up with something in the city.

***If you’re doing a short-term stay (one month or less) Airbnb is your best bet. Click this link to register and get $40 off the cost of your first stay.

Being a university city, Cordoba is not short on bars or people who go to them; the city is chalked full. You'll have no problem finding somewhere to go out everyday of the week, whether it is with locals or fellow tourists. The main spots are in Nueva Cordoba and Abasto. There are some more expensive clubs farther out in Chateau Carreras, but I wouldn't bother trying to meet people there.

I recommend: PulseA good place to go in Nueva Cordoba to see some beautiful people and dance the night away. Studio Theatre has fewer beautiful people IMO but it is easier to meet girls.

If you want to meet women in Argentina, you will need to speak some Spanish. PickUp Spanish is the best resource of its kind, designed specifically for teaching you the Spanish you'll need to meet girls from Latin America.

GROCERIES: Milk (1L)= $1.50   Loaf of Bread= $1.75   Eggs= $2.50   Water (1.5L)= $1.25   Cigarettes= $2.00

JOB OPPORTUNITIES: Yes! You can teach English here. You also have a shot at working as a waiter or in a hostel, but only if your Spanish is sharp.

TAXI: $3.00-$4.00.

NOTES: A sensational city. I guarantee you'll want to stay longer than you planned, even if only for the women. Cordoba is a perfect-sized city. There's enough to do to keep your life exciting, but not so much that you feel overwhelmed. The surrounding countryside also offers phenomenal resort-type lodging, and a host of outdoor activities. These things make Cordoba one of the best places to live or study in Latin America.
